KICKSTARTER : HEARTSTORM.

I do love a good Kickstarter project, so I was happy when my good friend (and totally talented graphic designer) Michael Buchino directed me to his: Heartstorm. Mike is asking for your help to create a number of posters of his new beautiful linocut. Everything is done by hand, which is something I always deeply appreciate. Isn't it awesome? You can check out more about it here, as well as back it right here.

INTERIOR INSPIRATION : A RANDOM FRIDAY.

My oh my- it's been hard getting back into the swing of things. The holidays, no matter how lovely they are, tend to be chaotic and all I usually want to to is rest afterwards. But anyway, I thought I'd share some new favorite rooms with you this cold Friday morning- and again, Happy Holidays!

THE NEWEST EDEN LOOKBOOK...

...is truly breathtaking. The concept: "off Kensington’s swinging High Street, and into the artists studio go two muses – one light, one dark… possessed with the eccentric allure of rock star girlfriends, rivaling the strength of Gaelic warriors, the dark glamour of high priestesses, their closets heaped to the brim with opulent furs, tweeds, silks and sequins, bodies stacked with glittering metals and stones…"

THOUGHT OF THE DAY : EXERCISE KINDNESS.

"Be Kind, Everyone You Meet Is Fighting A Hard Battle," an inspirational hand-lettered typography print/poster by Emily McDowell. ($30, see also: website)

TEN IMAGES OF INSPIRATION : CHEER.

I know I am not alone in saying that since Friday's horrific events, my heart has been heavy and the tears have been flowing. I am trying not to forget the good things that exist, the things that make us grin and feel loved. I know ten lighthearted images can't do much, but I hope they can cause at least a little smile right now.

A SMALL ADVENTURE GIVEAWAY!

I am pleased to announce that in embracing the holiday spirit, I will be doing a number of print giveaways this month! I've had quite a few awesome illustrators contribute artwork for some lucky readers to win, which excites me greatly. I'm starting off today with this fabulous "Alphabet Adventure" print by Keiko Brodeur of Small Adventure. I adore this one- really, what other alphabet posters can you find an octopus wrestler and a nudist?

Keiko will be giving three lucky Design is Mine readers this fabulous print- to enter to win one, just comment on this post no later than Thursday, December 13th at noon. And please make sure to visit Small Adventure!

WINTER CABIN.

I must say, I love everything that Mary Kate McDevitt does. Both her hand-lettering and illustrations are truly beautiful, and she has such an incredible eye for detail that just shines through her work. So I was quite excited when I found out that she (along with her super-talented boyfriend of Man Vs. Ink) was teaming up with Wanderlust, the cutest little vintage/handmade shop in town. The result is a number of cozy, cabin-inspired pieces that were all lettered, printed, sewn, and assembled by hand. And just today they went up for sale online right here. Excitement!

If you happen to live in the area, make sure to take a peek inside Wanderlust to see all these lovely items decorating the windows and in person!
